Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026
These terms apply to the services FineWork.ai LLC (FineWork.ai, "we", "us") provides, and to your use of this website. By engaging us or paying an invoice, you agree to them.
They're written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email samuel@finework.ai and we'll explain it.
What we provide
We design and build technology for businesses: custom software and internal tools, automation, AI systems, integrations between existing systems, business and operations systems, data and reporting work, and the process analysis that decides which of those is actually needed.
Work is delivered either as a defined project or as an ongoing service. Both are described in a written proposal or statement of work before anything starts.
Proposals and scope
Nothing on this website is an offer or a quote. Prices depend on the work, so we scope each engagement individually and put the scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees in writing before we begin.
That written proposal or statement of work, once accepted, sits alongside these terms. Where the two conflict, the signed proposal governs the engagement it covers.
Fees, invoices, and payment
All fees are quoted and charged in US dollars (USD) and exclude any sales, use, VAT, or similar taxes, which are added where they apply.
Unless the invoice states otherwise, payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date. Invoices are sent by email and can be paid online by card.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — they go directly to Stripe, which handles them under its own terms and security standards.
- Project work: billed in full or in agreed stages, as set out in the proposal.
- Ongoing services: billed automatically in advance for each billing period.
- Expenses passed through at cost, only where agreed in advance.
Recurring services and automatic renewal
Ongoing services are billed on a repeating interval — most often monthly. Before the first charge we tell you the amount and the interval, and that amount doesn't change unless we agree a change with you in writing first.
Each period renews automatically and the payment method on file is charged at the start of it, until the service is cancelled. You can cancel at any time and there is no notice period or cancellation fee.
Cancellation and refunds are covered in full by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Late or failed payment
If an invoice is overdue or a recurring payment fails, we'll tell you and give you a reasonable chance to fix it.
If it stays unpaid after that, we may pause work or suspend an ongoing service until the account is current. We won't delete your data or take a system offline without telling you first.
What we need from you
Getting this right depends on access: to the people who know how the work happens, to the systems we're integrating with, and to decisions when we need them.
You confirm you have the right to give us the access and information you provide, and that doing so doesn't breach an agreement you have with someone else.
Ownership of what we build
Once you've paid for it in full, the software, configuration, and documentation we build specifically for you is yours. We assign that ownership to you outright.
We keep ownership of the general tools, libraries, methods, and know-how we bring with us and reuse across clients. Where any of that is embedded in your deliverable, you get a perpetual, worldwide licence to use it as part of that deliverable.
Third-party software and services used in a build remain subject to their own licences and terms.
Confidentiality
We treat what we learn about your business as confidential, and we expect the same of anything we share with you. Neither side discloses the other's confidential information without permission, except where the law requires it.
We won't name you as a client or describe your project publicly without your agreement.
Standard of work and limits
We perform our services with reasonable skill and care, and we stand behind what we build — if a deliverable doesn't do what we agreed it would, we fix it.
Beyond that, we don't warrant that software will be uninterrupted or entirely free of defects, and we're not responsible for failures in third-party systems, services, or infrastructure outside our control.
Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data. Our total liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending an engagement
Either of us can end an engagement in writing. Ongoing services stop at the end of the current billing period; project work stops at the end of the stage in progress.
You pay for the work completed up to that point. We hand over what we've built and the access we hold, and we delete or return your confidential information on request.
Privacy
How we handle information you share with us — through this site, an enquiry, or an engagement — is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Using this website
You're welcome to read, share, and reference what's on this site. Please don't attempt to disrupt it, access it in ways it isn't intended to be accessed, or misuse the contact form.
Submitting the contact form starts a conversation. It doesn't create an engagement, and it doesn't oblige either side to proceed. Please don't send confidential information through it — share that once we've agreed how to handle it.
The FineWork.ai name, wordmark, and the content of this site belong to FineWork.ai LLC.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the business changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and the terms in force when your engagement started are the ones that apply to it.
For ongoing services, we'll tell you before a change takes effect, and you're free to cancel if you don't accept it.
